You will be picked from the airport by our professional driver to a city hotel for rest after the journey. You will be briefed of the program ahead.
Day 2Visiting the orphanage and Kenya National Museum.
After breakfast you are picked by the driver and head to the orphanage to start the day with the children and their caretakers. There will be a brief introduction and then you embark on the daily activities in the home. You will assist in different chores as you interact with the children. In the afternoon you will be taken to Kenya national museum in Nairobi.
Here you get a chance to sample the country's rich heritage linking the four pillars of our heritage which are nature, culture, history and contemporary art. You will learn pre-colonial and colonial history of east Africa and see the fossils and artifacts of prehistoric man both for education and leisure. You will also get to see more of Kenya’s traditional lifestyles and customs preserved here. Later you return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3Visiting Children and Fun Physical Activities Later.
Activities lined up for you include preparing breakfast and serving, cleaning utensils and the hostels, dressing the children among the other activities of the day. Engage in other days activities including attending their class, physical activities like sports, skits, music and dancing etc.
Day 4A day with the Children.
You will have breakfast after which you will spend the day at the home assisting in the different activities till evening. In the evening join in the entertainment from the children by singing and dancing along with them. It is also opportune time to share experiences, give motivational talk or even share the bible.
Day 5Set Out For Maasai Mara.
You will have an early breakfast and set out for your dream destination MaasaiMara. You will have a brief stopover at the view point then descend through the floor on the rift valley enjoying scenic views through Masailand areas in Narok town eventually arriving in Maasai Mara in time for lunch .Freshen up after check in then enjoy a short a short siesta before setting out for an afternoon game drive in the beautiful rolling grassland of the Mara for a rendezvous with the Mara residents including the big five and a prolific bird life.
Your tourwill take you later on an expedition in the village for a sampling of the Maasai culture and lifestyle as best show cased in their authentic traditional dancing, the ladies beadwork crafts and meet local Maasai people in their real localities.
Day 6Maasai Mara.
After breakfast we embark on a thrilling morning game drive in search of the animals we didn’t see previously till lunch when we enjoy packed lunch in the bush. In the afternoon we enjoy more game drive with optional visit to the local Masai village for a cultural immersion.
Day 7Depart For Nairobi.
After breakfast we depart for Nairobi to arrive at lunch time. You will have lunch and then you are transferred to the airport for onward flight.
These children coming from different backgrounds are disadvantaged requiring special care in order to help improve their well being and assure them of survival. The orphanages offer support and shelters for vulnerable children from very poor backgrounds whose parents are not able to provide for them, others whose parents died of illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, the abandoned, neglected or abused. At the orphanage the children are provided with education, food, clothing, shelter, healthcare and psychological counseling. There are also those who were orphaned as a result of the HIV and some are infected requiring special counseling and care.
The volunteers will teach the children various sport activities, lifeskills that make creative use of their time and develop their tender skills and talents. You will assist with general care, including cooking the children's meals, laundry, offering moral support and guidance to the children, provide training in basic life skills, gardening ,landscaping and also in general maintenance aimed at improving the infrastructure and general appearance of the facility. You will also share with them your skills in dancing, singing, drama and art during their free time.
