Also known as Grand Bassin, the ganga Talaois a crater lake at 1800 feet above sea level located amidst the secluded rugged region of the Savanne District. The Eureka House is a unique Creole house constructed in1830 located near the river of Moka surrounded by water falls. It is a magnificent piece of architecture that was owned by the aristocrats from Britain & France during the 19th century.It is known to be one of the largest houses on the island, with 109 doors and windows and was restored and opened to the public as a museum in 1986. Eureka House reveals ancient details about the colonial architecture and the lifestyle as well historical insight through antiques, paintings, and photos from the colonial times. The house also comprises an amazing garden surrounded by the waterfalls of the Moka River and mokaranges and offers great meals at the Eureka restaurants as well as being open to exciting outdoor activities for visitors.
Chamarel- Seven Colored Earth
The seven colored earth is an amazing geological attraction found at the Chamarel village, in the Riviere Noire District in Mauritius composed of a magnificent area of sand dunes comprising seven different colors rising from the ground in nicely curved pattern (red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow). Visitors can catch a glimpse of the amazing sand from observation outposts. There are also shops near the region, which sell test tubes filed with the seven colored soil from the same to use as souvenirs.
Trou Aux Cerfs
Trou aux Cerfs, also famed as Murr's Volcano is a dormant volcano with chiseled cone &crater 1,985ft high and situated in Curepipe, Mauritius. The crater also measures 300-350min diameter and 80 m deep. The crater is difficult to access as a result of water& silt clogging, as well as its steep terrain.
Mauritius Botanical Garden
Located near Port Louis, Mauritius Botanical Garden, also known as Pample mousses Garden and SSR Botanical Garden is a major tourist attraction in Mauritius. It is the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere.
The beautiful garden was built by Pierre Poivre in 1767, and measures approx 37 hectares and best known for its giant water lilies, spice garden and unique collection of 85 varieties of palms from Central America, Asia, Africa and the islands around the Indian Ocean.
