Makilands tour and safari full day excursion to the Kisite Marine Park and Wasini Island are conducted daily on a joining basis or privately.Excursions to this dream destination will give you adrenaline filled moments, as you explore the virgin historical islands in a picturesque blue waters and the beautiful corals with a prolific marine life .Wake up early from your resort and drive across the Likoni ferry for those coming from north coast drive past ukunda and traverse through the huge Coconut ,Cashew nut , and Sugarcane plantations in ramisi in the beautiful land inhabited by the Digo community arriving at the tiny Shimoni village whose life revolves around fishing by the locals. Here you will board a Dhow and sail through the spectacular waters to the world famous Kisite and wasini islands.

Kisite Island is a small waterless coral island, 8 km offshore in the Marine Park. Coral platforms around the raised central portion are exposed at low tide. The three other coral islets in the park (Mpunguti ya Juu, Mpunguti ya Chini and Liwe la Jahazi) lie closer to the larger Wasini Island and are scrub covered not supporting significant wildlife. The surrounding waters have well developed coral gardens and a large variety of fish moray eels, angelfish, grouper, snappers,and green sea turtles are in abundance. Dolphins flourish in the shimoni channel and It is in their natural Coral garden where we will snorkel and marvel at the prolific marine life, with frequent sightings of humpback whales between august and October.
