Day 1A visit around Nairobi.

Airport pick up and transfer to your Nairobi Hotel /Guest house and you will be given a brief on the program. If you arrive early, we take an afternoon city tour, with a visit to the Bomas of Kenya for some insight about our Kenyan culture and diversity. Later return to your hotel for dinner and your accommodation.

Day 2Meet Survivors.

After breakfast we head to the facility where you meet the caretakers and a brief history about the facility and all the activities there in. Volunteers will be introduced to the caretakers and the survivors of this devastating illness as well as share the day’s program after which the daily activities will kick off, till evening when you go back to your accommodation for overnight stay.

Day 3Prepare For Volunteering Programme.

Day 7Depart For Maasai Mara.

You will wake up early take breakfast then depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the rift valley. You will arrive on time for lunch ,then a short siesta followed by a thrilling game drive in the rolling grasslands of the Kenya's premier park the MasaiMara .It is here that the famous annual wildebeest migration of over a million animals between Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania takes place each year.Dinner and overnight will bein your camp/lodge.

Day 8Maasai Mara.

Spend the day game viewing across the Mara which is renowned for the high concentration of game including the big five ,the wildebeest,zebras, giraffes,gazelles,as well as a prolific bird life . The Mara is liked for being easy to spot all animals with a high possibility of spotting the big five in a single morning!

You will be treated to lunch in the bush by the Mara River and be treated to exciting scenes of massive hippos and crocodiles basking by the river banks.

Day 9Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru.

After breakfast depart Maasai Mara Game Reserve and head to the famous LakeNakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is best known for theFlamingo and other birds as well as a successful Rhino Sanctuary where you find both the black and white rhino. A game drive in the evening takes you to great herds of buffalos, giraffe, and other members of the big five apart from the elephant.

Overview

This programme allows you to lender your services and skills in a humanitarian program by working in an orphanage dealing with Aids related issues, giving health education and carrying out health campaigns. The program focuses on counseling sessions, awareness campaigns, community mobilization and education on transmission, prevention of mother to child transmission as well as message on living positively with the disease for the affected and the infected. You will be targeting on the reduction of levels of stigmatization and raising the self-esteem of the infected persons.

The program involves a visit to the slums, local health facility and the homes where you help with various activities such as feeding, cleaning and even interact with the slum dwellers by giving health talks, motivational talks, as well as help in distribution of various commodities such as food, medicine, as well as providing basic medical care.

Volunteers will also assist in specific activities especially at the local health facility where they help in collecting blood samples, testing blood, wound dressing and counseling especially for the medical interns or nursing students etc. Other activities will involve health talks, counseling sessions and creating community awareness and advocacy by organizing seminars, workshops and trainings etc.
